Sunrise at the top of the Mountain Merapi

For you who like the challenge of nature, tourist objects should stop off at this one. Approximately 30 km north of Yogyakarta city you will arrive at Mount Merapi, one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. Exploded more than 37 times, the largest in 1972, killing 3000 people. Even so, the mountain with a height of 2968 meters above sea level offers a panoramic view of nature that are difficult to ignore. Hence, many mount climbers or nature lovers who feel not satisfied if they have not had time to set foot on this mountain.

Currently there are three climbing route to achieve, namely the path Kinahrejo / Kaliadem from the south side, Line Babadan through the western slopes, and Line Selo / Plalangan from the north peak of Merapi. The climb from the north is the recommended route because it has a more gently sloping slopes. Baiku time to do the climb is between the months of June to August. Time interval has entered the dry season and the wind is not too tight.
